Dr. Carol brings both academic expertise and years of experience as a practitioner helping people experience wholeness as God intended.
She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from Loma Linda University, Loma Linda, CA. While still practicing medicine she obtained her Doctor of Ministry degree from Oral Roberts University focusing on Christian leadership, where she was dubbed “doctor of souls” by the seminary dean and “doctor-doctor” by her classmates.
Dr. Carol interacts daily with readers, podcast listeners, ministry leaders, students, patients, and a world-wide online audience through her website, www.drcarolministires.com. Currently, she practices medicine part-time and is an adjunct professor of Theology and Ministry at Southeastern University at Celebration, Georgetown, Texas.
Together with her husband Al Tanksley she hosted the live radio program The Dr. Carol Show until shortly before his death in 2016. She is the author of five published books, including Dr. Carol’s Guide to Women’s Health (Siloam, 2016), Overcoming Fear and Anxiety through Spiritual Warfare (Siloam, 2017), and The Christian’s Journey Through Grief (Siloam, 2019).
Dr. Carol makes her home near Austin, Texas, where she enjoys being “Grandma Carol” to four wonderful grandchildren.
